Are nine Custom-Tab keyboard shortcuts enough?

Right now, Aeon Timeline allows unlimited Custom Tabs, which is amazing. The problem arises when we create more than nine, because keyboard shortcuts are assigned only to the first nine custom tabs.

From a workflow perspective, the more custom tabs we create, the more likely it is that users will appreciate keyboard shortcuts, since it can be hard to manage them solely through the app interface.

Whether we use keyboard shortcuts to activate a particular Custom Tab view, or, as in my case, something like Stream Deck, we are forced to use fairly complex workarounds to automate opening tabs beyond the first nine. I documented one such workaround here:

How to extend shortcuts beyond the first nine custom tabs - Mac & Windows (Desktop) - Aeon Timeline

I think it would be useful for developers to hear from users who would appreciate having a few more custom-tab keyboard shortcuts assigned, say, up to 15 or 20.

This won’t particularly affect me since, as I’ve said, I’ve found a workaround. But it is not a trivial workaround, to be sure, so maybe this is something worth exploring.

Why not duplicate a project and sync both to scrivener. Project 1 tabs 1-9 and project two tabs 10-18. Both projects sync to common scrivener project. In theory would sync data and could use different sets of shortcuts for each project.

I suppose this could be another workaround, but working in duplicate projects defeats the power of having a multi-novel series in a single project, doesn’t it?

The thing is, I already have a sufficient workaround. I was just thinking that, if there are enough users who would benefit from increasing the number of keyboard shortcuts assigned to custom tabs, the developers might consider it.

That said, maybe I should just be satisfied that I’ve coded a workaround and shared how I did it in another thread. Still…
