Web version update

It would be good to have an update on the web version. That said, there is an active beta for the offline version 3.5. In my view, the features would justify releasing it as version 4; it’s that good.

Thanks for everyone’s continued interest. The collaborative web version is definitely still planned, and it’s something we’re very excited about.

Right now, we’re fully focused on testing and releasing Aeon Timeline 3.5. Many of the features in 3.5, like customizable tabs, are foundational pieces we need in place before a web version can work the way we want it to. Once 3.5 is released, we’ll be able to shift more attention towards the web side of things.

A feature I’d like is a way to expand the edit window for a multi-line notes field. It would be nice to have a way to wax poetic about an event in a conveniently sized window, even nicer if I could open a multi-line text property in the editor of my choice.

Though perhaps we’re swerving off-topic for this thread, if you haven’t already read it, you might enjoy reading What Aeon Timeline could be. I argued for adding a writing tool to Aeon Timeline: “The key is to stop thinking of Aeon Timeline as a ‘timeline’ tool and develop it and market it as an integrated writing and plotting environment.” This idea has gone nowhere, at least, so far. But I can dream, can’t I?

Good thoughts. I guess the things I’ve always thought about would make AT more capable in terms of knowledge management.

Pretty natural I would think in those terms. I crave that kind of system.
