Actually, I just saw today that Obsidian had an add-on for import of Onenote and multiple other of those types of notebooks…
I have not tried it yet, so I do not know how accurate it is…

Ok, you guys win! I kept playing with Obsidian and it finally clicked for me. Been working on moving over notes - the OneNote importer isn’t bad, but I need to clean up a bit since a few things are wonky.
I wonder if I could do kinda what I mentioned in the original post - sync Aeon with Scriv, and then Scrivener with Obsidian (external file sync)?
Hope someone makes plug-in for Aeon now…
Do a search on github, there is a couple of good onenote to markdown converter scripts there…
It might be that one of them are better for your use.

Thank you so much!
Oh man, you should have a look at TheBrain, which really changed how I work. It’s not just a mind mapping tool: by default it has its own much more useful view and data presentation, but the way you add and modify data (and link everything) is phenomenal. That’s because you can navigate and edit as fast as your mind thinks (sort of). I moved all my notes from OneNote, Evernote and Google Docs in there. It supports files (incl. references to files on your disk), webpages and that sort of stuff too.
One other great thing about it is that you can export your selected (hierarchically organized) notes as an indented Text Outline. I sometimes just dump a selection export that way into ChatGPT and analyze my notes for contradictions, duplication, suggestions, analyses and editing.
