Age at cursor and general mouse update, please

Hello friends, I started a new, more complex book, and I’m using many apps simultaneously (Obsidian and its canvas, Gimp…) for preparation. I notice 2 things,

  1. the mouse ergonomy is not on par with most (if not all) other programs. I would love to be able to move around the timeline “just on a clic” - middle clic? or clic with a modifier? or with both buttons? or after/while “space” is activated? Just allow to move around the screen like in a graphic app?
  2. It is hard to see the age of a character in a specific date. It would be very nice to have the age shown instead of the name when the cursor moves along the “line of life” (character “on” in item types)

And thank you alot, your little program is really a gem !
(thank you for your patience with my poor english, I hope it is understandable ;))

They are doing a major update with a lot of great features including the ability to change the order of items in the inspector card. below is an example where I moved my primes (POV characters) in the scene up to the top of the card so when click on a scene I see their names and age listed as shown below based on place on timeline. (the second image shows my settings for my character item type.

Hi, Grisemine.

In the Timeline tab, once an item is selected you have some keyboard shortcuts for navigation:

Depending on your mouse, you could program it to activate each shortcut. For example, I could, if I want, assign each shortcut to my trackball mouse.

In my own setup, though, I assign such navigation to my Elgato Stream Deck.

Is this helpful?

Thank you Steve,
I did not know about this, will try to configure my mouse buttons, as I can’t use these shortcuts on my (french) keyboard ([ and ] needs Alt-Gr, and it collides with Ctrl and Alt keys).
Is there a way (even editing configuration files) that would allow to change these bindings ?

So far as I know, the keyboard shortcuts are not configurable by users. It would be a nice new feature for Aeon Timeline, wouldn’t it?

I must say, your English is much better than my French would be.
