Bug – Mind Map Tab Names Not Updating in Context Menu after renaming (v3.5)

Platform & OS Version

Platform: Mac
OS Version: Tahoe 26.2 (25C56)
OS Language Setting: French

App Version

Version: 3.5.35
Application Shell: 3.5.35

Problem Description + Screenshots

After renaming a Mindmap tab (e.g., from “Mindmap 2” to “TEST”), the context menu (accessed via right-click on an item → “Add to Mindmap”) continues to display the original tab name (“Mindmap 2”), rather than the updated name (“TEST”) => (Screenshot in attachment)
This inconsistency creates a risk of user error, as the outdated name in the context menu may lead to items being assigned to the wrong Mind Map.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a new Mind Map (default name: “Mindmap X”).
  2. Rename the tab in the tab bar (e.g., to “TEST”).
  3. Right-click any timeline item → Select “Add to Mindmap”.
  4. Observe: The context menu lists the Mind Map under its original name (“Mind Map X”), not the updated name (“TEST”).
  5. Reproduction : 100%

Hi @Rebecca,

Just to note: deleted Mind Map tabs are still appearing in the contextual menu (new screenshot in attachement). Let me know if you’d like me to create a separate bug report for this ?

Hi @Krakouille,

Thanks for the update. We’ve released a hotfix that should prevent the context menu from “holding on” to links to any new mindmaps that get deleted. Renaming new mindmaps should now also be reflected correctly in the menu.

We’ll be releasing a further update to clean up any existing affected context menu entries (repairing names/removing links as needed) once we have more thoroughly tested out those changes.

No separate formal bug report is needed, but please do let us know if you continue to experience issues with any new mindmaps.
