Aeon only provides one date timeline, which challenges use cases where you want parallel timelines progressing at the same OR different rates. Some examples: multi-world building authors needing to manage multiple planetary timelines simultaneously, or running international projects (on earth) in different time zones.
Possible solution: add a new item type that is a calculated field. The user can select any existing field to include in the calculation along with basic math operators. The custom formulas will allow for time to progress differently. The database will always be anchored in the existing date field, so the user will have to pick a primary date that everything is referenced to. Any errors are null.
I am sure there are plenty of other practical use cases for calculated fields, which would further improve Aeon’s flexibility.
Personally, this would help manage two timelines for a novel I’m writing.
