Can the chronological order based on start dates be reversed

I have 43 events representing satellite missions and assign Start Date to the launch date of the satellite and End Date to the demise or expected demise data of the satellite. In some cases the demise date is not known so I make use of the “Uncertain End Date” feature. This works every well as you can see from the screenshot below.

My question is whether there is an elegant way of reversing the vertical positioning of the satellite missions so that the oldest satellite appears at the bottom and the satellite launch launch furthest in the future appears above. This is determined by the chronological order in the spreadsheet view. While I can reverse the sequence of launches in the spreadsheet view I cannot find a way of updating the chronological order based on the sorting result.

Hi @Malcolm I’m very sorry for the lack of response to your question.

It’s not currently possible to reverse the vertical order the way you’re hoping, but we’ll consider it as something that may be incorporated into a future release.

Out of interest, are you trying to do this to achieve a certain visualization, make your timeline easier to navigate, or something else?

Thanks for getting back to me - it’s been a while but as I recall there were two aspects

  • One is the option to mirror the sequence of events timeline to reflect the way they are listed in the spreadsheet view which allows the user to display and sort the events in different ways
  • In this particular case I wanted to give the visual impression of the number of satellite missions building up over time starting with the oldest satellite at the bottom and increasing with time

If you can build this into future releases great.
