From the tabs on top the screen (Timeline on the left and Minimap on the right).
I’m selecting Narrative and working from there.
I know I can drag my events left or right as to where I want them placed.
But is there a way to sort them by date (Without dragging them in place).
Going from left to right that is.
Unfortunately, the Narrative can’t be sorted in the way you’re hoping as it’s manual order only by design.
Are you trying to permanently re-sort your narrative so that it’s arranged by date? Or are you just looking to be able to better understand and work with the events in your narrative by temporarily seeing them sorted by date?
If the former, arranging your events manually might be a bit of a drag, but you can use the events panel to help you get everything into the right order (assuming they have dates) before dragging them from the panel onto the Narrative.
- Click the Events icon in the Sidebar to open the Events panel.
- Click the button in the top right of the panel to change the sort order (it might already be set to chronological).
- Switch to the Narrative view.
- Click and drag events from the panel to place them anywhere in the narrative – events already present will relocate to the new position.
If the latter, If you have a timeline with only some of the events included in the Narrative, you can filter events in the Spreadsheet view to show only those in your narrative.
- Switch to the Spreadsheet view.
- Click the Filter icon in the Sidebar (looks like a funnel) to open the Filter panel.
- In the tabs up at the top, select Focused View.
- Click the More Filters button at the bottom of the panel.
- Select Narrative from the list of options.
- Click the radio buttons to choose between In narrative, or Not in narrative.
If there’s something else you were trying to accomplish or a different way you were hoping to work, let us know, and we’ll see if there’s anything we can recommend.
Yea, I have been dragging them in place.
Just thought it might be easier to sort by time.
Thanks for the help.
