Characters duplicated during sync

In Scrivener, I have my characters nested by group–family, co-workers, suspects, etc. When I set up the Timeline file, it imported the characters as character groups, which makes it impossible to assign to events.

When I change them from “character group” to “character,” Timeline puts them in Scrivener’s trash. When I move them from Trash back to Characters within their groupings, Aeon duplicates them. I’m chasing my tail here. Is there a solution?

Hi James,
It is designed to be able to sync to those kinds of nested folder structures, you just need to get the sync settings right so it knows what to treat as Character Group, and what to treat as a Character.

If you look at this help document, it goes through the sync settings, and then runs through an example settings for syncing something similar to what you describe with Character Groups and Characters:

I hope that helps, but please let us know if you have follow up questions.

It is 1:41am here, so I will be going offline now, but hopefully one of our users in a friendlier time zone can help out with anything further.

Matt

Thank you, Matt. 1:41 am is above and beyond the call. I appreciate it.
