Following the example of character groups, I have defined a location group and assigned the same properties, relationships etc. to it. However, I can’t get such a location group into the location panel to group locations. Where can I make the appropriate setting?
Have you added ‘location group’ as an ‘allowed parent type’ in the Location item settings? I think that is all that is needed.
If you want the Location Group to be listed in the Group Items in Timeline menu, then you need to tick the box “Relationship Comparisons”, for the Location Group, which you can do in Advanced Settings. Once you have opened Advanced Settings, click on the Location group in the list of item types and tick the Relationship Comparisons box under the heading Show In.
Thank you very much for your answers, stuart and jess.
This did the trick. Now I can show you a combination of grouping and nesting that relates to another question of yours here in the forum.
That’s what I already did when creating the Location Group type on the example of the Character Group.
This brings me to a feature request: it would be very helpful if I could create new item types by copying and modifying existing item types.
Cheers,
Peter
