How to change timescale in Timeline by Step view?

I am working in the Hero’s Journey template. I have some events entered, and I can change the timeline scale (from weeks to days) in the Timeline view as expected. However I can’t make the same change in the Timeline by Step view. It won’t let me select any scale other than weeks.

Weirdly, if I change the timescale (say from weeks to decades) in the Timeline by Step view, nothing changes, but when I go back to the Timeline view, the timescale in that view is now decades.

Thanks for reporting this. We’ve confirmed that this is a bug with the Hero’s Journey template, and we’ll release an update to fix it as soon as possible.

In the meantime, a workaround to get the timescale working is:

  1. Select the Timeline by Step tab.
  2. Click the down arrow in the tab, and choose Delete tab.
  3. Select the Timeline tab.
  4. Click the down arrow in the tab, and choose Duplicate tab.
  5. In the view header, click Group to open the group panel.
  6. Choose to group by All Steps and No Step.

This will give you a tab with the same timeline setup, but with a properly working timescale control.
