I’m exporting my timeline via CSV in order to use the data elsewhere, and need to be able to create a list of scenes organized within their chapters. However, when I export CSV data, the narrative data is not exporting the parent. That is, “Chapter 2, Scene 11” is being exported as simply “Scene 11”. As there is also no data exported under Chapter 2, there is no way for me to discover what scenes go in which chapters in the export. How do I export this data, or otherwise make it clear in the CSV export which scenes belong to which chapters? (And so on for acts, sub-scenes, etc.)
I see the same problem in the Beta version , but if look at the bottom of the excel import file you will see the act and chapter narrative folders listed.
I don’t use excel much, but here is page which talks about how to rearrange cells so can move acts and chapters into position.
Used highlight row, shift key and mouse to move and got this, would need to clean up but can be done.
Thanks for the reply. I was aware of the items being at the bottom, but it’s unfortunately not very helpful (the spreadsheet, I’m not referring to your reply). I’m trying to automate as much of the process of exporting timeline information into Obsidian as possible, and having to manually rearrange the export data with every export kills that.
That’s fantastic, thank you so much!
