Hi,
I’m building a timeline of Mesopotamian history to follow through the book “Between Two Rivers” by S. Al Moudhy.
I’m trying to show both the regnal dates of important rulers and, when known, their birth and death dates. So I’ve tied the ruler to a “Person” item and the reign to a “Period” item, but I get a very heavy timeline if I add the regnal “Period” as a parent to the “Person” item.
Is there a consensus as to how to present such data. I imagine the issue comes up quite a bit in historical timelines yet I don’t seem to find any info about it in the forum.
Thanks for any help !
Hi @seishonagon One solution that might help you out if your timeline gets a bit busy is to use grouping to separate Period and People into separate rows, similar to the way it’s done in the Ancient History starting template.
This guide to grouping and nesting will help get you started with it.
