I don’t understand story arcs

I don’t understand how to add new story arcs - I’ve looked at the various guides and also at the Wuthering Heights example and still can’t make sense of how to set up a new story arc.

Please could someone help?

PS I’ve found how to add them to the sidebar but I can’t get them to show up on the timeline. Why don’t they show up there???

With my version of Aeon Timeline, I choose “group by arcs” to see the arcs in the timeline view. The timeline is then divided vertically into sections, each showing all the events assigned to that particular arc. I can also assign events to an arc by dragging them into its section.
