"i" icon/button for Windows

Can we please get the “i” icon in the upper right to close the inspector?

I asked support if this was coming and I never heard back from anyone.

Currently, you have click on another row to close it or go through the cumbersome inspector panel.

I love Aeon Timeline, it’s been wonderful! Adding “i” for Windows users would be great.

Thanks!

Hi @Jodi, apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

I think I understand what you’re after now: when you have a row selected in the spreadsheet, you’d like to hide the inspector without having to click into a different row.

On Windows, the easiest way to do this is by pressing Ctrl + Alt + i. This will temporarily hide the inspector until you select a different row.

We’re unlikely to bring back the “i” button, since the inspector now automatically appears or hides depending on whether an event or item is selected. That said, we’ll look into whether there’s a way we could make it easier to quickly deselect items, especially in the spreadsheet where there isn’t space to click to clear the selection but keep working in the same row.

Note: I posted this before I saw Rebecca’s response.

I had the same challenge but discovered that I could use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + i. Does that work for you?

I took it a step further by creating a Stream Deck key to do that for me, but, again, the keyboard shortcut works just as well on its own.

Thank you, that works great!

And I now see all the shortcuts in the menu, which I missed before. Sorry about that!
