Is the Spreadsheet view gone now?

I haven’t been using the spreadsheet view, so this may be my fault in not understanding the new UI… but I’ve loaded up my project today and found that in version 3.5 (which surprisingly auto-updated on its own without asking), the timeline view that I’ve been using for everything is now called the “Spreadsheet” tab.

Timeline still exists to the left of Spreadsheet, but that is an entirely different view showing all items in timeline format. But when I click back on Spreadsheet, it shows my filtered timeline view. Here’s a screenshot.

Have I broken something?

If I interpret your screenshot correctly, your spreadsheet is still there, at the very top, collapsed to a single header: it says “354 items”. There should be three buttons to the very right of that bar, one of which is a square to un-collpase it.

Hi @Recon I think @SmugRainbowPony is correct. It looks like you’re using a split view, but the top split is currently collapsed.

Clicking the box icon in the far right of its header should expand it again for you.

Here are a couple of other useful things to know about v3.5:

Rename Tab:
In a future update, the app will rename the tab appropriately when the view type is changed, but here’s how to edit it manually.

  1. Click the dropdown next to the tab label.
  2. Select “Rename”.
  3. Type a new name and hit enter.

Change View Type:
Here’s how to set the view type for each split view on a tab.

  1. Click on the split view to select it (the header should go gray).
  2. Click the … on the far right of the header to view the options.
  3. Select “Change view type”.
  4. Select the view you wish to use in that split.

That resolved the issue, thanks. Somehow, my project’s pre 3.5 timeline view got superimposed as split windows over my spreadsheet view. I’ve moved everything to a custom tab and it works great!

If I could request one tweak, it would be: could we please be allowed to resize split views a little smaller so that they can be made snug up against a single item? I like having a split view with just a single character showing, so that the “age” years appear along the top. This is an amazing indicator showing how old target characters are during all the events that the other split windows are filtered for. If the split windows could be just a bit tighter that would save even more screen space.

In fact, the single character’s bar doesn’t really even need to be there. If there was simply a way to put the “age” rulers up, by themselves, based on select characters, that would be amazing

That is an area we would like to continue improving. Thanks again for your feedback @Recon :slightly_smiling_face:
