Hello! So I have a cast of characters for a story. Say I use the blue people icon for Clan Blue, or the purple one for Clan Purple, or all red for villains, yellow for allies, fushcia for heroes; same thing for locations, items or whatever groupings I require. At the end of the day, how do I remember all these within the software (rather than making a note on paper)? Is there a map key or legend somewhere, or a label function I haven’t found? Thanks!
You can change the name of the colours in the app so that it is easier to see what you have been using them for.
If you open Settings (the cog icon), then click the Colors tab, you can click on a particular colour (or add a new one) and edit its name. So instead of “Red” or “Blue” it can be “Clan Blue” or “Villains” etc.
Therefore you can then reopen this list to see what colours you used for what category, and also when you are wanting to change colour of something, or filter by colour, the list will directly show you what each colour represents.
@jess Ahhh! I’m still building a relationship with the cog icon. Never would have found that, or thought to use it that way, rather. Now I have Protagonist Fushcia and Antagonist Blue (for some weird reason I like the colour name there). I can work with this, I think. Thank you!
[Edit] Just a note for anyone coming across this post: the Murder on the Orient Express example available on the “home” page of the software has good examples on organizing character groups and themes. I’d looked at it before, but never asked that particular question.
