I’ve tended to use TL in a fairly straightforward manner, just accepting most of the defaults and only making relatively minor changes.
However, now (finally) I need to branch out a bit. I’ve looked at the Murder on the Orient Express example and seen how that has multiple named timelines and a different set of icons on the left panel.
Maybe I’m searching for the wrong terms, but I can’t find any way to create these for my own use.
Anybody got an Idiot’s Guide sort of thing for this?

Timeline or Spreadsheet settings (top right Gear icon).
Timeline Settings: Select ‘Data Types’ from ribbon bar along the top.
Click ‘Edit’ button for any of Item Types. Relationships or Properties.
Advanced Settings: Select ‘Item TYpes’ from ribbon bar along the top.
Select (click) the ‘Item Type’ from the list displayed, or Add a new Item Type.
On right hand side see (or scroll to) the section headed ‘Show in’ and look for ‘Sidebar’ tick-box. Tick that and the Item Type will appear on Left Hand Side of Timeline views.
