New timeline, sync to existing Scrivener file, participants not sycing

I create a new AT2 timeline, choose the Novel template.
I set the sync settings and sync to an existing Scrivener project.
The Observers for events get synced, but the participants do not. In the inspector, for a given event, I see the appropriate Observers, but not the Participants.
In Relationship View, nothing shows up in the columns for Characters.

Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

Can you give some more information?
Sync options. In which Scrivener field do you have the participants listed?
Maybe you can make some screenshots?
