Save/load column choices as views in Spreadsheet and Outline tabs

Hello Aeon team! I love this app and have been using it a lot in writing and storytelling.

I often end up with a lot of metadata as columns in “Spreadsheet”/“Outline” view that I tend to not need all at once. At different points of writing, or when I’m working on different things, I need different columns visible.

So sometimes it becomes like “alright, now I wanna work on this part of the story now and see these columns. Gotta manually switch out my columns loadout…”

In this use-case, it’d be neat if I could save and name column visibility setups, much like filters, and swap between them on the fly.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

I have often wished for this kind of feature, too. The good news is that an excellent alternative is available in version 3.5, now in beta. We will be able to create custom tabs configured however we want. So we can create, say, a custom Spreadsheet tab with specific columns showing, and call it up whenever we want. Custom tabs can also be assigned to a keyboard shortcut.

This reads like it’ll help my exact use case! Looking forward to 3.5’s release!

I’m creating custom tabs in the beta and love this new feature. I’m betting you will, too.

Hi @hikatamika you won’t have to wait long as 3.5 is coming very soon :champagne::fireworks:

And as Steve said, you’ll have the flexibility to create multiple custom tabs, with different columns and filtered content on each one.
