Shaded/colored Columns on Timeline

I apologize if this request is someplace - I searched but did not see anything similar.

I love the timeline view, but what would be so helpful is a way (for instance, a checkbox for any given event) to create a shaded vertical column on the Timeline view for the duration of that event.

Say I have an event which is four days long and a number of events/scenes/markers which all occur within that four-day span. Looking at the GANTT cascade of events, it is hard to know at a glance if those events are within my four-day span or not. If the four-day event had the option/ability to apply a shaded vertical column top to bottom in the timeline, this would be very helpful in plotting event timing relative to an overarching event timeframe. Even more helpful if multiple events could have overlapped shading as well.

Thank you for considering the feature and thanks for Aeon Timeline - such an awesome app!

I think you can do this with Calendar markers (on the bottom set of options on the left sidebar). When you create a calendar marker, you have a checkbox to “Draw on timeline”. This will shade the duration of the event with the selected color for that marker.

Thanks for that answer @planasene and so sorry we missed your original post @straylight6

Just adding that yes, when you’re using calendar markers with “Draw in timeline” active, as described above, you can have multiple overlapping markers with their own distinct shading and labels.
