Hi! I’m just setting up a new sync to Scrivener and I want to sync a custom item type I created to a folder outside the manuscript. But I can only choose “characters”, “locations” and “story arc”. I looked at the settings of these items and can’t find the difference to my custom type. (First I thought it was because it allowed dates and might be interpreted as an event, but removing dates didn’t fix the problem).
To be synced with a folder outside the manuscript, an item type must not be in either the Chronological Order or Narrative Order.
You can check this by opening Advanced Settings (the cog icon, then the Data Types tab, then Edit).
Click on the item type in the left panel, and scroll down the right panel until you get to the heading “Show In”.
“Chronological order (always)” and “Narrative order (when explicitly added)” must be unticked.
