I do most of my work on an iPad Air because my macbook is old and slow. I would love to be able to create templates on iOS or at least select the ones I created on my mac for a new project.

In the meantime, it may be helpful for you to create a blank file with the template you want on your Mac, and then save it to your iPad Air. Then whenever you need to start a new file with this template, you can duplicate the file via the Files app to start with the template that you want.
