Timeline - Split Markers & Birthdays into different bars?

Hello! I just ended my 14 day trial and purchased Aeon Timeline, because I love it so much. BUT… I have a suggestion:

I’m using Calendar Markers to keep track of astronomical events, which are relevant in my story. I have repeating events to track moon phases, for example. But when I make birthdays visible, the birthday icons cover the moon icons. I also find it annoying having to turn birthdays on and off for individual characters. So my suggestion is a “character bar / birthday bar (?)” right above or bellow the bar that shows the icons for the Calendar Markers. This bar would show all birthdays by default (maybe you retain the option to individually show or not). And maybe this bar could be turned on or off, if you think it’s visually too cluttered. This way I could keep track of birthdays and astronomical events independently and quickly see how they relate. I hope I’m explaining this clearly, and maybe there’s better solutions for the problem!

PS- No, it’s not a story about astrology, werewolves, or sci-fi. But I bet people who write those would enjoy this feature as well!

As someone who frequently writes stories that involve either the 60-year sexagenary cycle, Japanese micro-seasons, moon phases, and various zodiacs either based of Druidic/Celtic influences, traditional western mythologies, or other asian zodiacs, sometimes in a combination of each other—YES. It would very much help.

It’s already hard enough getting the moon phases represented on a timeline because the damn moon can’t orbit the earth in a nice round number. I usually end up only using the birthday markers for my main characters because there ends up being way too much in the markers bar.

There doesn’t even necessarily need to be a new bar. Could facilitate the same thing with a mark to show multiple events on one day, then click to select the one you want? Or perhaps a button to show stacked ones beneath the largest marker, like the drop down menu for finding mind maps, or hiding the side panel.

I’d also just like to multi-select them, because the delete-only-one-at-a-time thing is… unfortunate, when you realise halfway into timeline planning that you have over 60 markers incorrectly dated.

In the forthcoming vers. 3.5, you’ll be able to create more than one tab of any view. Thus, perhaps you could create one view with birthdays showing, and another view with moon icons showing. I haven’t tested this in the beta, but it seems like something that could work.

I know; I’m playing around working things out on it already, but I’m still trying to wrangle the changes with the relationships on my existing timelines, since that’s the feature I make the heaviest use of. I haven’t really played around with views yet. I was just commenting from a more basic, needs less technical poking and prodding perspective.

Makes sense. The stories I write don’t involve much complexity regarding the kinds of things you’re grappling with. I can only imagine some of the challenges.

(I should probably mention that I was responding to the original posting from @Cheila. I apologize for not making that clear.)
