I tested the beta of Aeon Timeline 3 last year but haven’t used it much since then. But now I’m writing again and I’m planning to use Aeon as my main tool. In doing so, I’m relearning how to use the application.
I’m writing a screenplay so i choose the Screenplay template but I’ve decided to change some of the settings to fit my preferences.
My first move was to change the Section Labels of the Narrative Timeline Settings and I’ve noticed some buggy behavior.
I want the top-level Section Label to be “Act,” replacing “Book.” Strangely, there were two Section Labels named “Book” in the Screenplay template and I wasn’t sure why. Both of them had no checkboxes for the “Folders” or “Other Types” columns.
When I changed one Section Label from “Book” to “Act” the other “Book” section label changed as well.
I figured the second one was redundant, but clicking the “x” button didn’t do anything. So, I clicked the “x” button on the first one and that one wouldn’t delete either.
I believe I’m experiencing a bug. There should be only one top-level label, not two.
Steps to reproduce
Choose Screenplay Template, then Time Settings, then Narrative tab, then try renaming the name of the top-level Section Label.
- Are you able to reproduce this bug reliably?
Yes, every time.
- Can you make this bug happen with a clean timeline file?
Yes, every time.
- Does it only happen with a specific timeline file?
Any relevant files?
I created a screen recording but apparently I can’t upload it. I will send it via email.
