I just received an email from Setapp with this news. I’m sure there are sound reasons. When Aeon joined Setapp I switched to using that install as I figured it would provide some ongoing income to the developers, in addition to my previous licence purchases. I assume the Setapp income was insufficient? I also assume my original licence will still be valid?
I would also love to hear about this as I only discovered Aeon Timeline through Setapp and is sad to see it go.
While Setapp has always been open to discussions with us, unfortunately for regular app usage they were only able to offer what is a small fraction of a regular sale for us. Coupled with maintaining a separate build process, it became unsustainable for us as a small team.
While we want to make Aeon Timeline as accessible as possible, it was unfortunately impeding our ability to best support the product and all of our users.
I also assume my original licence will still be valid?
Yes, if you’ve purchased a license from us (or via Apple) you can use that to access the app.
