Allow displaying children items without also displaying the parent items

Please allow displaying children items without also displaying the parents. For timeline with lots of grouped events, the compact layout is illegible due to all the children events being forced to stay within their respective parent events. With this feature, users can choose to, for example, tag the parent items they don’t want to see and filter them out of view.

(I am not the only one interested in this feature, since the same was asked about in this question.)

Hey @htgkyaabo thanks for the feedback.

You’ll be happy to know that this is something you’ll be able to achieve using filters in version 3.5 of the app, which will be released soon.

Good news indeed. Although it would be remiss of me not to ask the question I’m sure all of us who are eagerly waiting for 3.5 want to know: how soon is soon?

Apologies. You’re right, Steve. We’ve all come too far, waited too long for that to happen. Put it down to exuberance, excitement, perhaps even a touch of delirium at the prospect that soon means very soon. I just can’t wait to load 3.5 into my arsenal of writer’s tools and make it sweat for me. The subway view meets narrative order, markdown text export! Filters on spreadsheet view. My god, I’m not sure I can cope with the wait!

Oops, there I go again. I’ll shhhhhut up now

@AeonRob On a more serious note, I’ve just noticed the current iOS TestFlight beta expires in 10 hours…
